How To Find Comfort In God

Life isn’t always smiles and laughter. Sometimes life brings us tears and broken hearts. When unexpected challenges and tragedies take place in our lives, they can quickly leave us lost, confused, and feeling hopeless. In those moments of despair, we cannot lose sight of Jesus. In those trials and tragedies, we need to press into Jesus all the more.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

How to find comfort in God

DWELL IN THE PROMISES OF GOD

SHARE YOUR HEART WITH GOD

God knows what you’re going through. He knows what you’re feeling, and He is feeling it too. But even though God knows, He still wants to hear from you. He wants you to let Him into the deepest parts of your heart. He wants you to share how you feel. Praying about what is going on in your life is a great way to let everything out and give it to Him. Once you release it, you can then walk in His comforting love, compassion, and grace.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

SEEK COMFORT THROUGH WORSHIP MUSIC

Listening to worship music is a beautiful way of finding comfort in Him, especially when you don’t know what to say or do. You can rest in His presence and find comfort as you listen to worship music that praises God for who He is. When we listen to worship music, it takes our heart from a place of despair to a place of contentment and peace. There are many worship songs out there that can apply to how you feel right now, and that can still encourage your heart by remembering who God is.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH GODLY COMMUNITY

Getting around other godly people is essential for not only your Christian walk but also finding encouragement for what you are going through. One way God speaks to you is through other people, and when you put yourself in a place of opening up to someone who loves Jesus, most likely, God will use them to give you some perspective and show you His love and compassion. We are not meant to do life alone. Sharing life with others who love and live for Jesus can bring so much joy, peace, comfort, and healing to the trials that we face.

REST ALONE IN SOLITUDE

Spending some time away from people, responsibilities, and life can be an excellent opportunity to take care of yourself and refuel. This time can be used for pursuing God by doing all the other things mentioned above, or you can use this time to care for yourself in ways you typically wouldn’t. It is best to use this time to refuel, reflect, rejuvenate, and relax. Slowing down and taking care of yourself can be comforting in itself.
